San Jose: Police arrest two, seize 22 pounds of meth, cocaine, $25K in cash

San Jose police officers arrested two men on Saturday, seizing 22 pounds of meth and cocaine and $25,000 in cash in the process.

“A long-term investigation by Metro Team 2 led to the takedown of narcotics traffickers with help from our MERGE Unit,” San Jose Police Department Assistant Police Chief Brian Shab wrote in a social media post.

The Mobile Emergency Response Group and Equipment, or MERGE Unit, is how the department refers to its “SWAT” team.

The department served search warrants at three San Jose homes as part of the investigation. The names of the arrested suspects have not been released at this time.

“Outstanding work by all involved,” Schab said.
