
OAKLAND — Police here have identified a man who was shot and killed this month inside a Kia he rented.
Nicholas Gagnon, 33, was reportedly shot and killed around 12:45 p.m. on April 11. Police say they found him inside the parked Kia on the 8100 block of Fontaine Street in East Oakland, just below Interstate 580.

Gagnon had listed addresses in Eureka and Vacaville, authorities said. He died before emergency responders arrived at the crime scene, authorities said.
Police haven’t announced any arrests, nor said if they discovered the motive for the shooting. They haven’t said how many shooters are suspected, or if there are indications that Gagnon knew his killer or killers.
