The Sharks introduced their ‘Heritage 2.0’ jersey on Friday, the same style of jersey they wore from 1998 to 2007.  The jerseys will be worn for Sharks home games against the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 30, the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 20, the Washington Capitals on Dec. 3, and the Winnipeg Jets on March 1.

At those games, the Sharks will celebrate their 35th anniversary by hosting and honoring several Sharks alumni. The Oct. 30 game will feature Jeff Friesen, Kyle McLaren, and Mark Smith, and the Nov. 20 game will be the Joe Thornton Hall of Fame Celebration Game, as the longtime NHL centerman will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Nov. 8.

The Dec. 3 game will feature Patrick Marleau, Evgeni Nabokov, and Mike Ricci, and could mark Alex Ovechkin’s final appearance in San Jose. Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky’s NHL career goal-scoring record last season and is entering the final year of his contract.

The March 1 game will feature Scott Hannan, Owen Nolan, and Scott Thornton.

Jerseys will first be available for purchase at SAP Center during Friday night’s preseason game with the Golden Knights. They will be available online following the game.

“We have a rich history of game-changing players and trendsetting jerseys,” Sharks chief marketing officer Doug Bentz said in a statement. “While we continue to see growth in new fans attracted by our young core and community engagement, it’s important to connect the foundation of our past with our bright future.”
