According to Cecile Juliette, a public information officer with the Cal Fire San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit, the plane consisted of a pilot and a student and lost power over Scotts Valley, prompting an emergency landing.
The pilot and a student passenger aboard were not injured, and the plane landed undamaged.
Multiple reports said that the plane took off from the San Carlos Flight Center at San Carlos Airport.
