Bay FC falls to San Diego Wave FC despite Caroline Conti’s second-half penalty kick

SAN JOSE — Bay FC is still searching for a home win.

A victory at PayPal Park continues to elude Bay, which has not come out on top in San Jose since June 7. A pair of second-half goals by visiting San Diego made sure that streak continued.

Kimmi Ascanio scored in the 52nd minute, and Kenza Dali added on the in the 63rd to power San Diego to a 2-1 win.

Caroline Conti got a goal back late for Bay FC, converting a penalty kick after a San Diego handball in the box. But despite a few late chances, Bay FC couldn’t equalize.

Bay FC’s final home game before its showcase game at Oracle Park next Saturday was attended by 11,484 fans.
