The crash happened about 4:15 a.m. Saturday on eastbound Highway 24 just west of Pleasant Hill Road.
The California Highway Patrol said its preliminary investigation indicated a black Toyota sedan driven by Yugai, for reasons still under investigation, veered off the right shoulder and crashed into multiple trees south of the roadway.
He was pronounced deceased on the highway. Yugai was the only occupant of the car.
