The robbery occurred on the morning of May 30, at around 10:30 a.m., shortly after the victims — a 13-year-old, a 16-year-old and a 31-year-old — had left a promotion ceremony at Delta Sierra Middle School.

According to police, two suspects approached the group, and one allegedly pulled out a handgun, demanding the victims’ gold necklaces. The 13-year-old and 31-year-old handed over their jewelry, while the 16-year-old ran from the scene. The suspects fled on foot with two gold necklaces.

Following an investigation, detectives identified 18-year-old Jaylin Rankins and a 16-year-old male as the suspects. Both were taken into custody and booked on robbery charges, police said Friday.

Authorities did not immediately release further details about the case.
