On Jan. 19, officers were called to the complex in the first block of Mandalay Place for a report of mail theft, the South San Francisco Police Department said in a news release Friday.

Detectives identified one of the suspects as a 38-year-old San Jose man and linked him to three burglaries at the complex.

On Thursday, detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s home, where they seized hundreds of pieces of stolen mail and further evidence of a complex fraud operation, police said.

The man was arrested and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City on charges including residential burglary, mail theft and felony fraud.

Detectives also arrested a 35-year-old San Jose man at the home, police said. He was booked into the same jail on felony fraud, identity theft and drug possession charges.
