
OAKLEY — Firefighters responded to a three-alarm vegetation fire Tuesday evening, according to a social media post from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

Fire crews stopped the blaze’s forward progress by 6:48 p.m., authorities said.
The fire broke out near the intersection of Main Street and Brownstone Road, firefighters said.
Several cars also caught on fire, authorities said.
Firefighters put structure protection into place, authorities added. Shortly after 6:30 p.m., the Contra Costa County Sheriff STARR helicopter was on its way to provide water drops on the fire.
