A man was fatally stabbed late Thursday morning at a home in Bay Point, authorities said, and a woman was being held in the killing.

According to a news release from the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 11:26 a.m. to a “medical-police” call at a residence on Solano Ct. in Bay Point. At the home, they found a man bleeding from stab wounds and provided first aid until an ambulance arrived.
The man was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. He will be named publicly after authorities confirm his identity and notify his next of kin.
The suspect, Libelyn Utt, 57, of Bay Point, was arrested at the scene and booked on suspicion of murder at Martinez Detention Facility. She was being held without bail.
