Budget survey

Cupertino is exploring a transition from presenting the annual budget in a PDF format to a more interactive and accessible format using OpenGov Stories. This platform allows residents to explore the budget through visuals, narrative explanations and user-friendly navigation.

The city is asking for the community’s feedback to help guide this change. To that end, residents and business owners can take a survey by Tuesday, Oct. 14, at cupertino.gov/budgetformatsurvey. Respondents can enter a raffle to win a collectible Cupertino Challenge Coin.

AR preserve tour

McClellan Ranch, Cupertino’s 18-acre preserve, is offering visitors an interactive experience that brings history and ecology to life through augmented reality (AR). The McClellan Ranch AR Tour app blends real-world scenery with virtual storytelling.

Guided by Cooper, Cupertino’s robot mascot, visitors can stroll a quarter-mile loop and learn about local wildlife. Along the way, they can tend a virtual garden bed, peek into the habitat of migratory fish in Stevens Creek or discover the role of native plants in the meadow—all at their own pace.

The free app is available in English, Mandarin and Hindi. For a deeper experience, there’s Join-A-Ranger: AR Guided Nature Walks, where rangers lead small groups and provide additional insights.

Download the app at cupertino.gov/McClellanAR.
