Four boys, 12 to 15, arrested in Pleasanton park robbery

PLEASANTON — Four Stockton boys, ages 12 to 15, were arrested Monday on suspicion of robbing a man they had followed off a bus, police said.

The robbery happened Monday afternoon in Pleasanton Tennis and Community Park, located at 5801 Valley Ave.

In a social media post, police said the victim, a Pleasanton resident whose age was not released, had just exited a local bus when he noticed a group of male juveniles follow him off the bus and into the park.

The group quickly approached the victim and demanded his cell phone and belongings, police said.

The suspects then used physical force to steal the victim’s cell phone and property and fled into the nearby residential neighborhood, police said. He sustained minor injuries but police have not said if he required hospitalization.

Pleasanton officers, with the assistance of air support from East Bay Regional Park District police, were able to quickly locate and detain the four suspects near Shenandoah Court. The man’s property was recovered.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of robbery and were booked into the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center.

Police did not say if any of the suspects are related or if they are being investigated for any similar robberies.
