Residential burglary: Between Sept. 4 and Sept. 8, someone entered a residence in the 19000 block of Cox Avenue by breaking a rear glass door. The house was searched, but it is unknown if anything was stolen.

Petty theft: Between Sept. 5 and Sept. 8, someone stole two parking signs from the parking lot at Marshall Lane Elementary School on Marilyn Lane for a loss valued at approximately $100.
Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone used their personal information to apply for approximately $609 in college grant money.

Fraudulent registration tab, unlicensed driver: At 3:22 p.m., deputies stopped a motorist at Prospect Road and Brookvale Drive for an equipment violation. An investigation revealed the suspect was driving without a license and had affixed a fraudulent registration tab to the rear license plate. The suspect was arrested and booked into main jail.
Sept. 12
Theft by false pretenses: A Saratoga resident reported that someone called them acting as an employee of the victim’s internet service provider and ultimately convinced the victim to provide money via gift cards for what the victim believed was a new service contract, for a total loss of about $680.
Vehicle theft: At 2:55 a.m., three suspects worked together to steal a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 20000 block of Chateau Drive for a total loss valued at over $100,000.
