Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Ania Aleshi, Hillsdale flag football

Hillsdale flag football player Ania Aleshi is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Sept. 1-6.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aleshi finished with 55.9% of the vote. Monte Vista volleyball player Kennedy Whyte took second with 24.4%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Aleshi, a junior, completed 29 of 37 passes for 306 yards and three touchdowns as Hillsdale beat Santa Clara 21-6. She added 13 yards rushing on three carries. She also went 17 of 21 for 116 yards in a loss to San Mateo.
