
OAKLAND – Two people were killed and four others were injured in a shootout Wednesday night in East Oakland, police said.

The episode happened just before 7:45 p.m. in the 7100 block of International Boulevard, between 71st and 72nd avenues, according to the Oakland Police Department. Officers arrived to find multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
An initial investigation revealed multiple people armed with weapons entered a business and exchanged gunfire with workers inside the establishment, police said.
One suspect died at the scene and another was pronounced dead at an area hospital, according to police. Three other suspects and one worker were also taken to the hospital.
Police said the three suspects were listed in stable condition, while the worker’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
An investigation is underway into the shooting, which follows a number of others in recent days.
