Pinstripes, a sprawling, food-fueled entertainment center and bowling alley in Walnut Creek, has permanently closed less than one year after opening in Broadway Plaza.
The news comes after Pinstripes’ parent company, Pinstripes Holding, Inc., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week. The company announced plans to shut 10 of its 18 existing locations while it prepares to sell the business to new ownership.
“We have a committed buyer for our continuing locations, and we will continue to market our assets as a going concern to maximize value,” a company spokesperson said in a statement. “This decision was made to strengthen our financial foundation by reducing liabilities – including closing certain locations – to ensure business continuity and to position the Company for long-term success and growth.”

The Walnut Creek location was the company’s second Bay Area location after the San Mateo spot opened in 2019. The San Mateo location will stay open for now, and Walnut Creek customers with gift cards can use them in San Mateo.
Plans for the Walnut Creek location were first announced in 2021. A 2022 opening was continuously delayed until the complex finally opened last November.
