Nonprofit offers $10,000 reward for information on East Palo Alto murder suspect

EAST PALO ALTO — Nonprofit organization Moms Against Murder is offering a $10,000 reward in collaboration with police for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in a 2019 killing, authorities said.

Nonprofit organization Moms Against Murder is offering a $10,000 reward in collaboration with the East Palo Alto Police Department for anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Juan Carlos Solis, who is a suspect in the 2019 murder of Victor Gomez-Rios. The organization and authorities are seeking information on Juan Carlos Solis, who has been identified as the suspect in the death of Victor Gomez-Rios, according to the East Palo Alto Police Department. Solis remains at large.

On Sept. 7, 2019, police found Gomez-Rios fatally shot in his vehicle, authorities said. He was found on the 1800 block of East Bayshore Road.

“The East Palo Alto Police Department and Mothers Against Murder are urging community members to come forward with any information that may assist in bringing justice to the Gomez-Rios family,” authorities said. “Our community’s help is vital in bringing closure to this family and ensuring accountability for this violent crime.”

Anyone with information on the murder is asked to contact the East Palo Alto Police Department at 650-321-1112 or submit anonymous tips at 650-409-6792.

The reward is valid for 30 days after Sept. 1.
