Oracle, Salesforce slash hundreds of Bay Area jobs

Oracle and Salesforce have each disclosed plans to slash hundreds of jobs in the Bay Area in a fresh round of staffing reductions that will affect more than 500 workers in the region, according to WARN letters sent to the state Employment Development Department.

Salesforce is cutting 262 jobs in San Francisco. Oracle is eliminating 254 jobs – 187 in Redwood City, 36 in Pleasanton and 31 in Santa Clara.

Both companies stated the reductions would take place around Nov. 3 and described the layoffs as permanent.

This news organization reached out to both companies for comment on the layoffs.

From 2022 through 2025, Oracle has eliminated 744 jobs in the Bay Area, according to WARN reports. Over the same period, Salesforce has cut 1,454 Bay Area jobs.
