
SAN JOSE — A two-alarm structure fire at an apartment complex displaced six people early Saturday morning and sent one person to the hospital, authorities said.
The blaze was called in just before 2:30 a.m., the San Jose Fire Department said in a social media post. said. Firefighters brought it under control at 4:45 a.m.

Firefighters determined that the fire was caused by accident while cooking.
The apartment complex is located on the 1000 block of North Capitol Avenue, authorities added.
The fire damaged two apartments on the second floor of the complex, and two units on the first floor suffered water damage, authorities added. The four apartments were found to be uninhabitable and the residents were displaced.
