PALO ALTO — Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto has landed a burst of new merchants, including a restaurant that will open its first Northern California location.
“Palo Alto and Stanford Shopping Center are extremely desirable spots, similar to being in Beverly Hills or on Rodeo Drive,” said David Taxin, a partner with Meacham Oppenheimer, a commercial real estate firm. “Palo Alto has the highest retail rents in the Bay Area and some of the highest in California.”

Here are some of the details for the newer additions to Stanford Shopping Center:

— Reformation, a womenswear brand that offers sustainable apparel and accessories, has opened its first store in the South Bay and on the Peninsula. Its site is near the Vuori store.
— American Vintage, which offers French-themed apparel, is opening its first Northern California store in September. Its location is near Vince.
— Swarovski, a jewelry, diamonds, crystals, accessories and home decor store is now open. It is located next to Bloomingdale’s.
— Veronica Beard is opening its first South Bay and Peninsula store in September. The womenswear store is located near David Yurman.
— On Running is opening in October with its first store in the South Bay and on the Peninsula. The store offers Swiss-engineered performance footwear and apparel designed for running, hiking, and all-day activities. It is near Vuori and Allbirds.
— Zaytinya is opening its first Northern California restaurant in October. Zaytinya offers Turkish, Greek and Lebanese cuisines. The dining establishment is located in the shopping center’s redevelopment project near RH and Dumpling Time.
“Palo Alto is doing great even with all of the problems in retail,” Taxin said. “A lot of national companies want to be in Palo Alto and Stanford Shopping Center. The leasing market in the entire South Bay, including San Jose, is good right now. A lot of leases are getting done because retailers and restaurants want to be in this area.”
