
RICHMOND — A driver for the AC Transit bus system was hospitalized Monday after being attacked aboard a bus in a case that is being investigated as possible domestic abuse, officials for the transit agency said.

The violence happened about 7:35 a.m. on a bus outside the Richmond BART station, according to a statement from AC Transit spokesperson Robert Lyles. The BART station is located at 1700 Nevin Ave.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the attack. Lyles said deputies took somebody into custody but no other details were available immediately.
Lyles said the bus operator went by ambulance to a hospital for superficial cuts and was treated there.
