Two arrested after stolen mail found in East Bay

BRENTWOOD — Two men suspected of going through mailboxes at an apartment complex were arrested after being caught with more than 40 pieces of stolen mail, police said.

It happened about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, when police were called to the Blossom Apartment complex in the 1100 block of Alder Creek Way.

In a statement, police said they arrested a 42-year-old Concord man and a 35-year-old Pittsburg man on suspicion of mail theft, burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of burglary tools and possession of drugs. Police said they pulled over the two in a vehicle and that they had mail from various addresses throughout the area.

Burglary tools, drugs and drug paraphernalia also were in the vehicle, according to police.
