
OAKLAND — A 42-year-old man was shot in East Oakland late Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
The man was in stable condition at a hospital where he was being treated for a leg wound, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 4:54 p.m. Sunday in the 8200 block of Dowling Street.
The man was standing outside when a vehicle stopped and another man got out, said a few words and then shot the 42-year-old man before fleeing in the vehicle, authorities said.
Police are trying to determine a motive for the shooting and if the men knew each other. No arrests have been made and a detailed description of the shooter has not been released.
