Around 11 p.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Tice Valley Boulevard, near the 55-and-older community of Rossmoor, for a report of an elderly man being assaulted, the Walnut Creek Police Department said in a news release.

Officers arrived to find the man suffering from “significant injuries,” according to police.

Police said four suspects — identified as a pair of 18-year-old Concord women, a 17-year-old Walnut Creek girl and a 15-year-old Walnut Creek girl — assaulted the victim, took some of his personal property and escaped in a vehicle.

Officers found the vehicle a short time later and arrested the suspects, according to police.

The women were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility and the girls into juvenile hall on charges of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, causing injury to an elder and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident, police said, adding that “there appears to be no continued threat to (the) community at this stage.”
