The crash happened about 4:10 a.m. Sunday in the eastbound lanes of the freeway west of Ashby Avenue.

Kamraan was alone in a Toyota Sienna minivan that left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail, the California Highway Patrol said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation but drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors, the CHP said.

Anyone with information about the crash may call the CHP’s Oakland office at 510-457-2875.
