
Police arrested a man and a teenage boy for allegedly trying to burglarize a business at a Corte Madera mall.
The arrests happened early Friday morning at the Village at Corte Madera on Redwood Highway. Officers found an empty sedan with its engine running in a fire lane, Central Marin police Sgt. Jeff Peterson said.

Officers saw two suspects near a business. Peterson said they wore masks, hoods and sunglasses. One suspect allegedly tried to flee from officers.
Both suspects were detained and investigators used surveillance footage to connect them to the attempted break-in, Peterson reported. Police allege the suspects traveled in a stolen vehicle with two loaded handguns inside.
Clarence Turhan Simpson III, 37, of Hayward was booked in the Marin County Jail, where his bail was set at $25,000, according to jail records. The Marin County District Attorney’s Office charged him with attempted burglary, possessing a stolen vehicle, resisting police and committing offenses while having prior felony convictions.
Simpson is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
The other suspect, who is 15, was booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of attempted burglary, conspiracy and wearing a mask while committing a crime.
