The shooting, which caused a gunshot detection alert system to activate, happened about 11:24 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of 26th Street, about a block from Broadway.
The man was found bleeding outside his vehicle by police and was taken to a hospital.
Residents in the area reported hearing an argument of some kind before the gunfire, authorities said. Police said it appears the man was shot by at least two and possibly more people while he was sitting in his vehicle. The shooters then fled in a vehicle.
