Beach hazards statement affecting Bay Area Shorelines until early Thursday morning

Coastal North Bay including Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast, Northern Monterey Bay and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast as well as San Francisco County are the focus of a beach hazards statement issued at 12:32 p.m. on Wednesday by the National Weather Service. The statement is in effect until Thursday July 31, at 5 a.m.

“Dangerous ocean currents and fluctuating water levels,” can be anticipated according to the NWS San Francisco CA. “While coastal areas, beaches, and waterways may be open, please remain aware of your surroundings and check with local officials for conditions.”

“Dangerous ocean currents and fluctuating water levels will translate to hazardous swimming conditions,” according to the NWS.
