Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are enjoying a “budding romance” and are clearly “smitten,” as People magazine confirmed Tuesday that the two stars, who met on the set of the new comedy-action film, “The Naked Gun,” are “officially dating.”
Anderson, 58, and Neeson, 73, have done a good job of looking smitten in public, according to People. She planted a kiss on his cheek on the red carpet at the film’s London premiere last week, while they pretended to get caught making out on live TV for a humorous bit on the “Today” show Tuesday, People reported. In “The Naked Gun,” a reboot of the police-parody franchise that originally starred Leslie Nelson and Priscilla Presley, they appear to play lovers.
But Anderson and Neeson still make a surprising couple, given their public personas.
Anderson is the former blonde-bombshell who became famous posing for Playboy, starring on the TV show “Baywatch” and getting the personal home videos she made with first husband, rocker Tommy Lee, stolen and sold as a sex tape.

Neeson, meanwhile, is the tall, rugged classically trained actor from the Irish theater, who has worked with many of Hollywood’s top directors and received an Oscar nomination for starring in Steven Spielberg’s Holocaust drama, “Schindler’s List.” Neeson also dated Helen Mirren and Barbra Streisand before meeting his late wife, Natasha Richardson, a member of British acting royalty, while starring together in a Broadway revival of a Eugene O’Neill play.
Anderson, however, received some Oscar buzz herself last year for starring as an aging Las Vegas performer in the well-reviewed independent film, “The Last Showgirl.” Since leaving behind reality TV, the five-time married Anderson returned to acting in theater and films. published her New York Times best-selling autobiography in 2023 and has become known for her activism on behalf of PETA and people with AIDS and, controversially, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. She’s also adopted a make-up free look — when she’s not acting — as a way to gain a sense of freedom and to connect with her natural self, she has said in interviews. Her choice has sparked conversations among the public about beauty standards and women’s mode of self-expression.
Since working together, staring in the fall, Neeson and Anderson have gushed about each other in interviews.
Neeson outright told People in October: “With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her.” It’s possible that he was speaking professionally at the time, as he spoke of why he enjoyed working with her. “I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you,” he said. “No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with.”
For her part, Anderson told People that Neeson is “the perfect gentleman” and he “brings out the best in you … with respect, kindness and depth of experience.”
Fast forward to May, when Anderson revealed to Entertainment Weekly that she and Neeson bonded over a shared “love of literature and a good laugh.” She told the outlet in July: “I think I have a friend forever in Liam.” She added, “We definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving. He’s a good guy.”
The two also appeared together at the film’s New York premiere Monday night, and both brought their adult children to the red carpet for a group photo, according to People. Anderson is the mother of Brandon, 29, and Dylan, 27, with ex-husband Tommy Lee, and Neeson is the father of Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 28, with Richardson, who died in 2009 after a fall during skiing.
