A new sweet spot in town is Petals Creamery, located at 5 N. Santa Cruz Ave. Their ice cream and desserts are made in store. Co-founded by Nathan Gaudreau and Marcel Khorsand, both previous tech gurus, Petals is a cafe, creamery and bakery that blends Persian flavors with handcrafted ice cream and pastries.
The name Petals reflects the floral ingredients, like saffron and rose, frequently used in the ice cream and baked goods. Gaudreau and Khorsand share a passion for dessert, and the two have been friends for years, finally realizing their dream of opening a shop.
Petals Creamery is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on weekdays and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Expect to find flavors like saffron rose, sour cherry, Turkish coffee and other Persian-inspired creations, alongside house-made toppings and baked goods.
