Firefighters put out blaze at a San Jose post office early Sunday

SAN JOSE — Approximately 50 San Jose firefighters responded to a fire at a post office located inside a strip mall in the 6500 block of Crown Boulevard in south San Jose at 2:58 a.m. on Sunday, according to the San Jose Fire Department. The fire was put out at 4:31 a.m.

Upon arrival, first responders found that a vehicle had been driven into the post office and caught fire, causing the entire building to erupt in flames, according to the San Jose Police Department. Police arrested a suspect at the scene but have not released their identity.

The incident is being investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), according to SJPD.

No injuries resulted from the incident, SJPD reported.
