Bicycle gunman wounds man in Oakland

OAKLAND — A man riding a bicycle shot and wounded another man Thursday night in East Oakland, authorities said.

The 37-year-old man was hit in the torso and was in stable condition at a hospital.

The shooting happened about  7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 9000 block of International Boulevard.

Police said the two men had gotten into an argument before the suspect briefly left the area.  What the argument was about has not been confirmed and police have not yet said if the men knew each other.

The suspect came back a few moments later riding a bicycle, confronted the 37-year-old man again and shot him as he rode away on the bicycle, authorities said.

A friend gave the wounded man  a ride to a hospital where police were called.

The shooter is being sought.  A detailed description of him has not been released.
