Vandals cause $22,000 in damage to vehicle in Saratoga

Vandalism: Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., someone put contaminants into the diesel fuel tank of a vehicle parked in the 19000 block of Dorchester Drive. The total amount of damage was approximately $22,000.

DUI, injury collision, suspended license: At 10:33 p.m., deputies responded to a vehicle collision at Saratoga Avenue and Shadow Oaks Way. An investigation revealed the motorist was driving under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended license. The suspect was arrested and booked into main jail.

July 3

Residential burglary: At 8:30 p.m., someone entered a residence in the 19000 block of Three Oaks Way by breaking a rear sliding glass door and stole coins, jewelry and passports for a loss valued at approximately $20,000.

July 5

Petty theft: At 1:30 p.m., two suspects stole landscaping equipment from the bed of a truck parked at Fredericksburg Drive and Cheverly Court for a total loss valued at approximately $355.

Shoplifting: At 6:27 p.m., deputies responded to a theft call at Safeway in the Argonaut Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. An investigation revealed two suspects stole merchandise valued at approximately $720. Both suspects were cited and released.
