Jennifer Aniston, hypnotist beau ‘cuddled’ during Big Sur getaway: report

Before Jennifer Aniston was photographed in Mallorca, Spain, this past weekend, in the company of Jim Curtis, a handsome life coach, wellness entrepreneur and “subconscious specialist,” the two were seen together in Big Sur.

Indeed, it could be said that the latest narrative in Aniston’s storied romantic life really took off after she and “Hypnotist Jim” Curtis, as he is known to fans, turned up together at Ventana Big Sur. The luxury resort overlooking the Pacific Ocean has become a favorite destination for celebrities looking for laid-back hideaways with spectacular views.

A “spy” for Page Six spotted the “Friends” alum, 56, with Curtis, a former Wall Street trader-turned “transformational” author, wellness influencer and TEDx speaker, dining at the resort’s restaurant. They “cuddled,” according to the spy, a word that probably wouldn’t be used if they were just friends.

Now comes photographic evidence that Aniston and Curtis may be at item. The Daily Mail published photos of the two on the island of Mallorca together over the July 4th weekend. From the photos, it appeared that Aniston and Curtis were meeting up with her friends, “Arrested Development” star Jason Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka. It even looked as though Aniston was “enthusiastically” introducing Curtis to Bateman and Anka before the foursome headed to a party on a yacht.

Prior to the Big Sur sighting or the Mallorca photos, Aniston’s observant fans had been noticing a curious new follow in her social media feed, according to Deuxmoi. This was Curtis, who has 550,000 Instagram followers. But the digital activity between Aniston and Curtis didn’t stop there, Deuxmoi reported. Fans also spotted likes and other interactions between their respective accounts, “sparking quiet rumors and a potential new connection” for Aniston, who is known for her two high-profile marriages to famous, handsome men, which unfortunately didn’t work out.

The first marriage, of course, involved Brad Pitt. Alas, their five-year marriage famously imploded after Pitt met Angelina Jolie on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” Ten years later, Aniston married a second time, to actor Justin Theroux in 2015. However, they divorced in 2018, and he has since remained a close friend to her.

Aniston, meanwhile, continues to endure being the subject of “Sad Jennifer Aniston” memes, which focus on whether it’s possible for a successful, wealthy and attractive woman like her to ever be truly fulfilled without a husband and children. Aniston certainly has pushed back against this idea over the years, though she admitted in a 2022 interview that she once contemplated having children, but that her attempts at IVF didn’t work out.

No doubt, Curtis would encourage Aniston to resist telling herself negative stories. He practices what he calls “hypno-realization” and has spoken about how hypnosis is “absolutely” a form a mind control that helps people overcome “the mind traps” that keep them “stuck in patterns of suffering.” With his beard and tousled salt-and-pepper hair, Curtis also regularly posts clips of himself, offering affirmations “for empowerment and peace of mind,” which his social media followers can repeat for themselves.

Aniston has shown herself to be a fan of Curtis’ affirmations and of his work, according to the Daily Mail. In an Instagram post in May, she revealed that she was reading his book, “Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide: A Workbook for Coding a New Consciousness.” She also shared that she had turned to hypnosis to overcome her fear of flying, calling the practice “shockingly good!”

As far back as November 2023, Aniston also showed an appreciation for the way Curtis talked about the importance of “meaningful relationships.” The Daily Mail reported that she liked his post that read: “Is it better to settle or stay alone? The answer lies in nurturing meaningful relationships. Research shows that connections with others are crucial for happiness. So, don’t settle in your love life, and don’t isolate yourself either.”

Not much is known about Curtis before he was listed as studying business at the University of New Hampshire, then heading to Wall Street to work as a trader, according to his LinkedIn page and a 2018 interview with Fast Company. He developed an interest in wellness and self-healing after suffering a mysterious illness as a college undergraduate. Fast Company said that lesions on his spine that left him ill and caused problems with walking.

“While doctors couldn’t diagnose Curtis’ exact illness, he had all the symptoms of a spinal cord injury, including pain, headaches, muscle spasticity, and paralysis, in addition to a chronic limp,” Fast Company reported. He eventually left Wall Street for a career in health-related digital media companies, including at WebMD and Remedy Health.

Curtis now serves as CEO of Ufactory, a company that helps entrepreneurs developed personal brands, grow their social media presence, “attract loyal fandoms and supercharge revenue opportunities.”
