
OAKLAND – An 18-year-old man died Wednesday from injuries he suffered in a shooting earlier this week in Oakland, police said.

Authorities did not publicly identify the victim or announce any arrests in the case.
The victim was shot at least once around 9:50 p.m. Monday while driving in the 3200 block of School Street, in the Upper Peralta Creek area, according to the Oakland Police Department. He was taken to Highland Hospital, where he later died.
Authorities said the victim lived in a different part of Oakland and was in the area to visit someone when he was shot.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the homicide, the city’s 36th of the year, are under investigation.
