
SAN LEANDRO – A “major medical emergency” has closed the Bay Fair BART station in San Leandro, according to the transit agency.

The station at 15242 Hesperian Blvd. was closed around 4:10 p.m. after a person entered the trackway and was possibly hit by a train, BART spokesperson Chris Filippi said.
BART and the Alameda County Fire Department are responding to the scene, Filippi said.
“We are continuing to gather information on this incident, but for now Bay Fair station is closed,” he said.
According to BART, there is a major delay on the Berryessa Line in the Dublin/Pleasanton, Berryessa, Richmond and Daly City directions. AC Transit bus no. 10 is providing service between the San Leandro, Bay Fair and Hayward stations.
