
OAKLAND — An 18-year-old man was in critical condition Tuesday after he was shot Monday night in the Upper Peralta Creek area, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 9:50 p.m. Monday in the 3200 block of School Street.

Authorities have not yet said if the man lived in the area.
Officers responding to a gunshot detection system alert found the man with at least one gunshot wound. He was transported from the scene by an ambulance to a hospital.
Initial reports were that the man was shot by someone standing outside who then may have fled in a vehicle.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
