Brush fire breaks out in the Pacheco Pass

SANTA CLARA COUNTY – Cal Fire crews on Wednesday were battling a brush fire in the Pacheco Pass.

SJFD, Cal Fire halt brushfire near Guadalupe Landfill

The blaze, dubbed the Dino Fire, ignited just before 3 p.m. on eastbound Highway 152 at Dinosaur Point Road, according to Cal Fire. As of 4:08 p.m., the fire had consumed 50 acres and was 0% contained.

Crews were fighting the blaze from the air and ground, Cal Fire said in an incident update.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
