Magnitude 3.4 earthquake shakes East Bay

PINOLE — A 3.4 magnitude earthquake hit near Pinole at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake’s epicenter was about one mile northwest of Pinole and one mile west of Hercules, officials said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
