According to the CHP, the rollover wreck Saturday happened about 6:10 p.m. on westbound Interstate 80 near Potrero Avenue. The CHP said a black Fiat and a white Mercedes-Benz collided with one another.
The front seat passenger in the Fiat died at the scene, the CHP said. Authorities did not identify that person immediately, pending notification of relatives.
The two drivers both were hospitalized with what the CHP termed minor injuries.
“Any information, no matter how small, could be vital to the investigation,” the CHP said.
Authorities encouraged anyone who may have witnessed the crash or events leading up to it to contact CHP Officer An at 510-457-2875.
