SF Unicorns cricket matches to air on NBC Sports Bay Area stations

The San Francisco Unicorns will finally play in the Bay Area this summer, and their matches will also be easier for fans to see at home.

The Major League Cricket club announced Tuesday that its 10 regular-season games will be broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California this summer, beginning with the league’s first-ever match in Northern California on June 12 at the Oakland Coliseum. That 6 p.m. match will be a rematch of last year’s championship against the Washington Freedom, and it will air on NBC Sports California.

The Unicorns will play three matches at the Coliseum as the league brings a total of nine games to the Bay Area in its roving format in which all teams travel to a single location for a series of matches.

NBC Sports will pick up the broadcast from Willow TV by Cricbuzz, a 24/7 cricket streaming channel that carries all Major League Cricket games. MLC plays T20 cricket, a shortened version of the game that allows for matches to be held on a single day.

Friday, June 20 vs. Texas Super Kings (NBC Sports Bay Area – Grand Prairie, TX)

Monday, June 23 vs. MI New York (NBC Sports Bay Area – Grand Prairie, TX)
