
OAKLAND — A man was fatally shot in East Oakland Friday afternoon in the city’s second killing within 11 hours, authorities said.
No other information has been released yet about the victim, including his age and residence.
The shooting happened about 1:16 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of 90th Avenue near International Boulevard.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A motive for the killing is under investigation.
Some possible suspects were observed fleeing the scene in a vehicle but no arrests have been announced by police and no suspect information has been released.
Numerous streets in the area, including bustling International Boulevard, were shut down while police investigated.
The killing is the 33rd homicide investigated by Oakland police this year and the second in the city on Friday.
A man who had been shot Thursday morning in another part of Oakland died about 2 a.m. Friday. Last year at this time, police had investigated 31 homicides in the city.
