East Bay worker dies in industrial accident

BRENTWOOD — A 54-year-old man was pinned to death by a large piece of machinery in an industrial accident Monday, authorities said.

Few details about the incident were released. City spokesperson Lindzie Laughridge in a statement said the accident happened about 3:30 p.m.

The work location was in the 3900 block of Walnut Boulevard.

Authorities did not identify the man immediately Tuesday afternoon. He died at the scene despite a response from police, paramedics and ambulance crews.

Cal OSHA is assisting police and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s-Coroner are assisting with the investigation.
