Mountain View: A new OG Italian restaurant from Doppio Zero duo

The Neapolitan pizza specialists who own the five Doppio Zero restaurants in the Bay Area are branching out with a new concept, an old-school Italian-American place.

Look for classics like Veal Piccata and Sole Milanese when Johnny & Sanny’s opens Friday, May 2, on Mountain View’s Castro Street.

Founders Gianni Chiloiro (he’s Johnny) and Angelo Sannino (he’s Sanny) transitioned their Spanish tapas restaurant, Vida, which opened in 2023 near their pizzeria, to this new approach.

Besides the veal and chicken entrees, diners can expect to find Pasta (Mafaldine) Carbonara, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Cioppino and “Parm” in veal, chicken and eggplant iterations from the kitchen led by chef de cuisine Santiago Avila Gonzalez and corporate chef Antonio Inguscio. Pasta and bread will be made from scratch daily.
