
LAFAYETTE – A 34-year-old Fairfield man was arrested last week in connection with a series of burglaries throughout the Bay Area, including two at schools in Lafayette, police said.

Detectives opened an investigation after a suspect reportedly stole multiple credit cards from the schools earlier this month, the Lafayette Police Department said in a news release Monday.
Not only did detectives identify the suspect, they linked him to a “pattern of burglaries across the region involving seven other cities and counties,” police said. A warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of credit card fraud, identity theft and burglary.
On Friday, members of the Danville, Dublin, Lafayette and Vacaville police departments and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office served search warrants at three homes.
Detectives arrested the suspect, as well as seized evidence and other items related to the burglaries, police said. He remained in custody Monday at the Marin County Jail.
