
OAKLAND — A woman killed Sunday when the car she was a passenger in crashed into a tree off Interstate 580 in Oakland was identified by the coroner’s bureau Monday as Karon Green, 54, of Antioch.
The driver and a child who was a passenger were also injured and remained hospitalized, the California Highway Patrol said..
The crash happened just before 3 p.m. Sunday in the westbound lanes of I-580 west of Fruitvale Avenue before Ardley Avenue, the CHP said.
The vehicle the three were in collided with a tree, the CHP said.

All three occupants were taken to a hospital, where Green later died, authorities said.
The conditions of the child and driver were not immediately available, nor were their ages. The relationship between the three was not immediately specified.
The CHP said the crash remains under investigation. It is not yet known if speed or alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, the CHP said.
